murmur at Liverpool Biennial 2010

Ray will be creating a new work for the Liverpool Biennial. Made as part of No Longer Empty, the New York based group who are taking over a series of disused buildings in Liverpool for the Biennial.

Deep within the basement a huge, skeletal metal tower supports a slowly rotating mechanical arm. Loudspeakers on the arm emit pulsing, electric drones of sound.

One on one with the machine the audience feels both threatened and mesmerised by the perpetual revolution of the mechanism.
